FLACS IIB Charter School

In a neighborhood of beige and red masonry, the new FLACS IIB middle school is a standout. Its four story-façade is broken down into multiple folded planes, each in a vibrant shade of burnt orange, sunflower yellow, or deep blue. Totaling approximately 50,000 SF, the school house 30 classrooms for middle-school students on the upper three stories. The ground floor features a double-height lobby, from which students can access the Gymnasium and a double-height Cafeteria with a tall band of clerestory windows spanning the north and west sides. The interior spaces, which include a full slate of Administrative spaces,  special education rooms, and classrooms, are all accented with touches of colors picked up from the exterior palette, for a vibrant and welcoming environment.
