South Bronx Charter School for International Studies & the Arts. Full Architectural Services for a new 5 story K-5 school in the Bronx. Partners For Architecture helped the client to decide against the re-use of an existing 2-story brick building which had little substance and restricted the use of the property in many ways. The building features a full-size kitchen and a large multi-purpose hall for everyday lunch, gymnastics and school events.
This project required a variance for bulk and building height. Partners For Architecture was instrumentally involved in the approval process and helped the client
make decisions on an ongoing basis. This building was designed with emphasis on energy efficiency and our specific concerns about scale (midrise building in an urban environment vs. young children).
